SEYAHATNAMELERE GÖRE OSMANLI TOPLUMUNDA EVLİLİK VE DİVAN ŞİİRİNE YANSIMALARI, ss. 59-81

Birçok toplumun yaşamında temel mekanizmalardan sayılabilecek evlilik mevzuu, çok unsurlu bir yapıya sahip olan Osmanlı toplumunda öncesi, sonrası ve hatta sonlanması gibi süreçlerde kendi içerisinde belli başlı renkli ve ilgi çekici özel uygulamalarıyla farklı seremoniler oluşturur. Evliliğe dair uygulamalar surnâmelere konu olmakla birlikte bilhassa seyahatname türünde hem yerli hem de yabancı seyyahlar arasında ayrı bir dikkatle ele alınmıştır. Bu bağlamda Osmanlı sosyal hayatının gizil tarihi kaynaklarından sayılabilecek olan Avrupalı seyyahların seyahatnameleri, Osmanlı toplum hayatının omurgasını oluşturan evlilik bahsini ötekinin bakışıyla sunması bakımından ayrı bir önem arz etmektedir. Denilebilir ki bu metinler, -evlilik bahsi bağlamında- yalnızca toplumun sosyal yapısının anlaşılmasında değil, divan şiirinin içinde üretilen dünyanın anlaşılması bağlamında da önemli bir kılavuzdur. Yapılan çalışmada, 15. yüzyıldan 17. yüzyılın sonuna kadar Osmanlı topraklarına gelen Avrupalı seyyahlar tarafından yazılmış bazı seyahatnamelerden yola çıkılarak, Osmanlı toplumundaki evlilik ritüellerine ilişkin bilgiler vermek ve bu ritüellerin divan şiirindeki yansımalarından örnekler sunmak amaçlanmaktadır. Makale; giriş, evlenme yaşı, çok eşlilik ve evlilik türleri, evlenme öncesi uygulamalar, düğün, "talak" (boşanma) ve sonuç olmak üzere yedi başlık altında düzenlenmiştir.

MARRIAGE IN THE OTTOMAN SOCIETY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE TRAVELERS AND REFLECTIONS TO DIVAN POETRY, pp. 59-81

The subject of marriage, which performs an important mechanism function in the lives of many societies, consists of different ceremonies within its own processes, such as before, after and moreover at the conclusion. It is set in the well-known colorful and special applications that attract attention in the Ottoman society, which had a multi-element structure. The practices of marriage were subject to surnames, and they were treated with special attention, especially in the form of travel books, between domestic and foreign travelers. In this context, travel stories of European travelers who can be counted from the hidden historical sources of the Ottoman social life are of special importance in terms of presenting the marriage bet that constitutes the backbone of Ottoman society life with the view of the other. It can be said that in the context of marriage betting, these texts do not only represent an understanding of the social structure of society but also an important guide in the context of the understanding of the world within the Divan poetry. The aim is to give information about the rituals of marriage in the Ottoman society and to give examples from the reflection of these rituals in the divan poetry, starting from some travel books written by European travelers who came to Ottoman lands from the 15th century to the end of the 17th century. The article is divided in seven parts, i.e. introduction, marriage age, polygamy and types of marriage, applications before marriage, wedding feast, talak (divorce of a wife by her husband) divorce and conclusion.
